I spent the past weekend relaxing in a beach front property in Stinson Beach, CA with the teenyboppers, Christina and Pam. And it was simply fabulous. We drove up Friday night, which might've been a bad idea since the last 10 miles of the trip are up and down the Marin mountains on a very very very narrow road. But, when we got there, the temperature was perfect for sipping champagne on the beach, under the stars (if not for the coat of fog).
The next day, we all slept in and then made waffles and BLTs for brunch! I'm learning to cook! Yes, I know those are somewhat easy things to make. And I'm offended that you think it's dumb. Spent more time lounging around the beach house (literally 10 steps from the beach!), playing with Christina's 2 gorgeous Australian shephards, and then walked into the smallest town ever. We went into all the stores there, a total of 8 or so. Haha. And went back and sunbathed on our little private (not really) beach escape. When it got cold and late, we headed back indoors for dinner, movies, a game of Taboo, and strawberry daiquiris! I ended the night just sitting in the hot tub and again, sipping champagne.
Sunday. Again, we slept in and made french toast for brunch! We lounged around for a bit (actually, quite a while) and then Pam and I headed back to reality. All in all, the most fantastic weekend adventure that I've had in a long time.
A new life goal of mine is to rent out a beach house with friends one of these summers. It'll be a nice place to get everyone together.

Dance Dance
It's Thursday. I'm finally feeling back to my normal self... after the craziness that was the Google Dance 2007. So, Tuesday night, all Googlers plus SES Conference attendees were invited to the annual event held at the Googleplex. They turned the campus into a "club" practically. There were pool tables, video games (Fast and the Furious!), karaoke, and of course, tons of FREE food and alcohol. At first, we were all a little apprehensive. I mean, how much fun could a bunch of engineers dancing be? Wrong. VERY wrong. I spent the night drinking glass after glass of Chardonnay. I lost count after 5, but I think I got up to 8 to 9. I'm awesome.
Anyways, spent half the night wandering aimlessly everywhere. I played pool, lost in Fast and the Furious, chatted up strangers, and I believe that one point, I even challenged someone to a dance-off. R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S. But at least I know how to have a good time, right?
Who took this picture? Luong told me some dude was hitting on me and we were having a conversation and then all of a sudden, I said "take a picture of me and my friends". And then just ignored him after that. Hahahaaaaahahaaaaaaaa.

Finally, a New Post
Yes. I know I have been away from the blog for quite a while now. And I apologize. However, I have really nothing interesting to update with. The past couple weeks have been a blur. I do the same thing every day, every week, and every month. Some interesting highlights:
- The blue couch came! It's now happily sitting in our living room. Stef also brought a nice little glass coffee table. The apartment is being furnished --- slowly, but surely. Stef also purchased a nice little accent chair that will be arriving shortly (estimated arrival is Sept 10th). We still need to figure out decorations...
- Wyclef Jean was at Google. I saw his performance and was in deep awe of his talent. I'm a new fan of his.
- Went to a big party at Temple on Friday night. I saw most all of the Asians in the Bay Area there. It was an unexpectedly fun night. Thanks for making me go out, Christina!
- Had lots of fun and food (Korean BBQ) at Evelyn's Housewarming Party on Saturday. The theme was "awesomely bad t-shirts". Cute idea and it was a good time hanging out with cool people.

Out of Shape
I was somehow tricked into going running yesterday. So after work, George and Stef came to Google so that we could run the Shoreline Amphitheatre trail. I was doing well for the first 5 minutes and then I just got so tired that my legs stopped working. I (speed) walked for the most part and after an hour of looking at the water and golf course, we were back at the Googleplex. Sigh. BIG FAT sigh of relief. That's what I get for thinking so unrealistically. But, the silver lining of all this is that now I will make a more conscious effort to get in shape. Let's see how long this lasts. I think it lasted a good 30 minutes before I ate a ginormous dinner at Charlie's.
In other news, we are seriously organizing a Hong Kong and Taiwan trip for Dec/Jan. If you're interested, please please please let me know. The more the merrier! And you KNOW, it'll be ridiculously awesome.

Caffeine and I Don't Mix
If you know me, you would agree that I should not drink coffee. Why? Because it makes me... c-r-a-z-y. Yes. I know, right? I consume alcohol, a LOT of alcohol, but it doesn't compare to when I've had a cup (yes, even a small little cup) of coffee. So, this morning, I went to Starbucks on the way to work and got a tall Caramel Machiato. Next thing I know, I'm talking to myself and weaving through traffic. I get to work and I can't stop laughing. Who knew that caffeine had such adverse effects? Ok, but that's not the point of this post.
Stef and I went to Macy's Furniture Store last night and yes, we finally purchased a COUCH! It's suuuper cute and will be delivered this Sunday! It's the bluish one in the picture below:
We only got the couch, but we're going to buy some accent chairs and maybe a rug! How exciting! No more sitting on the floor in an empty living room!
After our very successful shopping trip, Stef, Young, and I had dinner at Santa Ramen, a hole-in-the-wall ramen joint that my brother very enthusiastically recommended (he's serious about it, you can read his review on Yelp). We had to wait about 15 minutes at 8:45pm on a Monday night, but we did because quite a few restaurant patrons leaving were heard saying "this place is f-ing delicious". And indeed, it was damn good. The soup was reeeally good and you never say that about ramen, so this place is pretty fantastic. However, that was not the last of our Monday night festivities, we headed over to this HK desserts place and had Asian desserts. I had the thick black sesame paste --- yum and my hair will get darker (you'll understand if you have a Chinese mother).
All in all, a very productive night to make up for a weekend of just lounging around. Seriously, I have nothing worth blogging about from this weekend. Oh. I DID go to Suite 181 on Saturday night to see William Huey drunk and ridiculous. But, other than that, nothing as exciting as getting a new couch and eating really good ramen. So, my next excursion will be going to buy a desk to furnish my very important home office. You heard me, I'm important.
P.S. I believe the caffeine has finally worn off because I'm starting to get a headache. I told you, caffeine is potent. For me, at least.
