Another weekend jam-packed with excitement... NOT. You know how I mentioned in a few posts back that I spent my weekend doing one of four things? Well, let's just say that is true for most of my weekends and this one was not an exception.
I spent my Friday evening AT WORK in a panic because that is usually when I come to the realization that I really didn't do enough during the week and I scramble to get my shizz done. I used my wily charm and persuasive skills to lure George out of hiding, errr... I mean studying for the MCATS (good luck this Wed, Geo!!!). By that time, it was practically 9pm --- yes, my charm and skills need working on. We ended up at the usual Castro St. hangouts, meeting up with some Googlers (and strange people), and chilling the rest of the night. Conclusion: Mountain View on Friday nights are actually good fun, especially with drunk engineers who dance to techno beats.
It was really windy on Saturday and this meant that I stayed indoors. Haha. No correlation, I know. I watched last Thursday's episode of Grey's, which I thought was darn good. I have a deep love for Izzie now when just last year, I was spewing obscenities at my TV because I hated her. This really goes to say that I cannot and should not be making any long-term decisions anytime soon as my mind changes more often that Britney Spears' wigs. Bleh. Well, I also got caught up with Ugly Betty! I don't care if it's a teenybopper show, I like it and I do what I want! I love ABC and its episodes online for providing me such entertainment on a windy Saturday.
Moving on... Saturday night, I met up with Stef and we headed up to the city with Young and Jen (!!!). It was Stef's friend's birthday and she was having a soiree at Slide, the mysterious door/club next to Ruby Skye. Christy met up with us too!!! Yaaay!!! Too bad Slide is a stupid place that doesn't let guys in unless they are with equal ratio of girls. Stef went through all this trouble to make sure enough of our girl friends were going so that our guy friends could also go. And what happens? The bouncer at Slide tells us there is a "private party" and no one can get in unless we buy a table, which means spending approx. $600 on two bottles of alcohol that you can get at Safeway for like $20. Poor planning or does Slide suck? I'd go with the latter, hence the title of this post. Although, I'd still like to get in one of these days just go down the slide.
Somehow, we made our way to North Beach. And long story short, we were at DragonBar for a little while and then went to the old Velvet Lounge/now I don't remember what it's called, but it has numbers in it. Dancing was fun and because of the company (awww...), the night wasn't so bad even with all the unnecessary trouble it took to finally get us all to a bar/club. The end. Oh, mental note, Jen throws food at people.
Well, now it's Sunday. And Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day, Mom!!! Stay away, stupid Lany!!! I'm taking her to brunch!!!
