Blink

Life goes by in a such a fast pace. You blink and it's the end of July. Friday was Brian's last day. It amazes me that so much has happened since November 13th, the day that we started working at Google. He's off to pursue his "real" career ambitions at Gonzaga Law School. Lucky guy. GOOD LUCK BRIAN! Anyways, so Friday night, Brian, Christy, Ty, and myself got Costco pizza and chicken wings and just hung out at my apartment, otherwise known as the notorious "APT not EPT" party. It wasn't really a party so much as just a nice farewell. Awww... it's <3. I fell asleep early (and on the floor) while Christy and Brian watched Pulse (a stupid horror flict), Jackass 2, the first 10 minutes of Stranger with Candy, and various episodes in The Office Season 2.

Early Saturday morning, we woke up and went immediately to Costco to buy the new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows book! Plenty of copies and no line! Who's the smart one now? (Btw, my brother called me around 11am and told me that he had finished the entire book. Nerd.) I tried to read as much as I could, but I had to run some errands before going up the city with George. I'm only on page 50 or so, please don't spoil the book for me. I will honestly kick you in the balls. Later that afternoon, George and I carpooled (HOW COOL IS THAT?) up to SF for Karan's Taqueria Crawl. A bunch of his coworkers go from taqueria to taqueria eating burritos and drinking beer. It's supposedly a contest or something. I just drank and ate... a little. One thing I learned is that Chicken Mole is made from chocolate and delicious. We stayed for only a few hours before we headed back down to Santana Row to meet up with Stef and Jen at V Bar. I had a good time, just catching up with ppl. All in all, a fun night that, again, ended pretty early. I think I went to bed around 1am. Jen slept over in my room and said that I literally passed out within 5 minutes of saying goodnight to her. HAHA.

It was great waking up on Sunday morning and just relaxing with Stef and Jen. I read a bit of Harry Potter and we just sat at the kitchen table talking about random stuff. I feel grown up. Hehe. We got together with a few more friends for lunch at Vung Tau in Milpitas. It was pretty good non-Pho Vietnamese food. Spent the rest of the afternoon and evening being really lazy --- bought Chinese groceries at Lion, scoped out the Obon Festival in Mountain View, watched TV/DVDs, etc. Highlight, I finally ate at Shabuway on Castro St. in Mountain View. It's goood. I recommend it. It's just like hot pot, you cook beef in a pot of boiling water. But, you get to dip it in really yummy sauces, like Ponzu and Sesame. Yuuum.

Next up: Giants game on Monday, hopefully some furniture sometime this week, CV Relay for Life on Saturday, SF Marathon (watching, not running) on Sunday.

HARRY POTTER! Ahhhh. I can't believe I finished it in two days. Although I don't feel as big of a dork as your brother, who finished it in less than 12 hours. Hmmm.
